Parents are tasked to guide their children to the right path in life. Most of the time, fathers are more strict and stiff when it comes to implementing the rules and regulations at home. Mothers are more caring and loving, making them the kid’s favorite!

But what really happens when your mother is the strict one at home?

According to a study conducted by University of Essex professor, Erica Rascon, children with demanding and strict mothers tend to be more successful in life.

The study was conducted based on 15,000 respondents. All are children ages 13-14 years old. Rascon said, “The measure of the expectations in this study reflects a combination of aspirations and beliefs about the likelihood of access to higher education declared by the majority of parents, in most cases the mother.”

The study also claims that children with strict mothers feel more confident, secure, and 4% lower chances of having an early pregnancy.

“In many cases, we have success doing what they believe to be most convenient for us, even against our parents. But no matter how much we try to avoid our parents, any recommendations form influence, albeit subtly in the decisions we make, but we believe that they are extremely personal”, said Rascon. Though children see their strict mother as an enemy as they grow up, there’s a great chance that these children will become more successful later. As you grow old, you will appreciate your mother and you will thank her in the end.

Is your mother strict? Try to be more understanding, they only want the best for you!
